I just got this fireplace and I love it! Very impressed with the realism of the flames and logs.I bought this for the ambience it gives my living room and not for the heater so can't really comment on how well it will heat a room as I haven't used it.Pros: Realistic looking flames and logs. Well built and sturdy. Open shelf is wide enough that it holds both my cable and home theater plus my center speaker.Cons: The open shelf is only 14" in depth. So make sure you measure the components you plan on using. Mine stick out a bit but doesn't ruin the looks. This is the reason I have given it 4 stars instead of 5.Cannot comment on shipping as I found this in a little shop. However, I had been looking on line and Amazon has the lowest price I have seen.

This was very easy to install. Auto-Changeover feature is super simple to use. Unfortunatley you have to take off your propane covers to view the indicator but that is no fault of this regulator.

It works

There's not much to be said for changing out a regulator. The old one would not change over automatically and we always had a faint smell of propane in the compartment. Changed it out and the smell is gone, the tanks change over, so it does it's job.It's sort of like a shovel. There's not a lot of charm or beauty here, but if it works, it's great, if it's broke, it's useless. This one works, so I'm happy.

This Heater worth the money.

Purchased the heater at Amazon.com. It was simple to setup and program. I located the heater in a small living area with 4 rooms and set the temperature at 70 Degrees. After 4 hours the areas were heated and the heater reverted to it's lower power.An important feature for me was it's cabinet which permits it to be set on the floor without fear of falling over and causing a fire.I would buy another one if I needed more heat.

Well made, durable, reliable. Like a Zippo!

I got a Mr. Heater Single unit about 8 years ago as a backup source of heat after hurricane Hugo knocked out our power for three weeks. It is still working fine and has come in real handy during infrequent ice storms and winter power failures.

My dad liked my single a lot so he bought a Mr. Heater Double to heat a big 3 car garage sized shop. He liked it but now thinks that a single would have worked fine as the double gets that big area heated in no time and keeps it really toasty.

My single unit works far better than gas logs to heat up a room. It does make a hissing sound that is not too loud but barely audible. A single will knock the chill off a large room in no time. A tank of propane will last about 30 to 36 continuous hours if you keep it set on low. I think this is a great alternative to other auxilary heat sources like Kerosuns or a fireplace. With an asthmatic child in our family, a kerosene heater is out of the question for us. This burns clean, creates no odor, smoke or soot. There's no maintenance, no wicks or anything like that. You can store it indefinitely untouched and then pull it out and fire it up with no preparation. I will buy another one if mine ever wears out.

I have recommended Mr. Heater to lots of my friends and family and have no reservation about recommending one to you. If you can't decide whether you need a single, double or triple I suggest trying the single first. Then if you aren't happy step up to the double or triple. It is really amazing how much heat a Mr. Heater Single generates!

It is rare to find a really good product that is durable and an excellent value. Mr. Heater is one of those rare finds. They are the Zippo lighter of auxillary space heaters in my opinion.

Great / Long Burning Furnace

I use one in my wood shop and it really works well. In fact I am here to get another. Heats a mostly uninsulated standard two car garage from 30 to 65 degrees in about 30 minutes. A standard 20lb propane cylinder will keep this guy going for about 30 hours. In summary, I would recommened this product.

I also have a small Patton fan that I cautiously use to blow air across the back of this unit. The fan circulates and distributes the heat. If you live in the north, you might want to get the double or triple unit.

Lotta Heat, Great for Decks

I live in the South, and in November each year I like to build a temporary enclosure for my deck. Last year I tried to rely on a firepit and electric heater for warmth--big mistake. This year I have the Mr. Heater--big bonus.I've owned and operated the Mr. Heater for a few days now, and I can tell you that it really puts out the heat. If you're used to plug-in heaters you buy at Wal-Mart, you'll be blown away by the heat this thing puts out. 8,000 BTU's is incredible (that's the lowest setting). There just isn't anything comparable in its class.I've never used propane before, so I was hesitant (there's just something about all that compressed lethel gas that gives me pause). But, it has been easy.1. Buy the Mr. Heater and READ the manuel.2. Go to Home Depot, Lowes, etc. and purchase a 20lb. propane tank. At the time of this writing, it costs about $48 for a filled tank (since you're a first-time buyer).3. There's a threaded pipe part of the Mr. Heater that you press into the companion pipe on the propane tank; twist the nut on the Mr. Heater into the propane tank. Use a wrench to tighten.4. On the propane tank is a faucet-like handle that you turn to open the gas flow.5. Turn the Mr. Heater nob to the Medium dot.6. Press in the Ignition.** I recommend checking for leaks by using some soapy water. Please do this--only takes a minute. **7. Use a match or candle lighter placed with a flame where it says.8. It will immediately ignite; hold in the ignition for up to 30 seconds and release.Voila. You've got instant heat--and it's instant! To turn off, just turn the Mr. Heater nob back to Off. Also, very important, it's a good idea to "close" the gas flow from the propane tank, so just turn that faucet to the closed position.Refills are currently about $17. Just take the tank in, and at Home Depot, the used propane tank is swapped out for one that's already filled.It's that easy! As one reviewer noted, it's not completely silent. There is a low hiss (from the propane release), but it hasn't bothered me at all. An excellent heater.

Great quality, very realistic

I was skeptical to purchase an electric fireplace without having seen one. After receiving the Dimplex Notting Hill I was very pleased with the quality of the mantle, the wood is very sturdy and assembles easily without the use of an tools at all. The fit and finish are much better than I had hoped. The firebox looks very realistic, much better than I was expecting from an electric fireplace. The logs have LED assemblies inside the various logs which dim and brighten to give a very realistic look. We have our fireplace operating much more than I thought we would, it is very relaxing. The heater fan is very quiet and puts out a modest amount of heat. It is nice to know that this fireplace can be used 12 months of the year if desired.

Even Steady Heat - No Odor - Silent - I Like It

My elderly relatives have owned various space heaters over the years and I was not happy with those so avoided them for my own use in the past. One blasted air like a fan which made it seem cold actually, the other went from raging hot heat, then shut off and it felt colder than it probably really was, then cycled on again, giving an uneven heat. Some are noisy. All had a foul smell and I wasn't sure if they were actually fumes of fuel or what caused those smells.In the news, I'd heard of fires from some units and didn't want any part of that, especially with kids in the house. I also worried of a very hot unit (to the touch) with kids around the unit.We are renting at present and do not have control of the poor heating system here (and now my youngest is 11 years old and knows enough to not touch it) so I bought this space heater a month ago. Also it's important to know that often I am usually the only cold one in the family.When I saw this I thought "space heater" it actually is a PARABOLIC electric type space heater.PRESTO HEAT DISH PLUS throws heat only where it is directed, that's what a PARABOLIC heater does. This works best for heating one person, in my opinion. Right not it is aimed at our desk where two people are sitting about four feet apart from each other and we feel the heat more in between us (it is not reaching our left and right outside edges. Another example is it can be pointed at one person and sitting two feet away but out of the disc's direction, you can't feel the heat. It does heat objects, like the back of my desk chair and the desk.The cons of this unit is that it sits low, it is not raised up, so it keeps your feet warmer than your hands (for example, I have a hard time getting my hands warm while using the computer keyboard but my feet and legs are very warm).It is hard to move around, there is no handle or anything to hold onto, you have to push it by the base. It is lightweight and very tippy when you try to move it.If you tip it while moving it, there is a loud buzz, that's a good thing.My model does not have a night light on it, I don't need it. I don't use it while I'm sleeping.The orange you see on the photo can only be seen when viewing from one specific angle, all the other angles will show silver when you look at it. The entire orange part in the photo is not the heated up part. It has coils inside that are hot and the dish parabolic thing helps the heat reflect out into the room. The back of the unit is very warm or a little hot but not hot enough to burn you when touching it.Also although the general shape looks like a typical fan, this has no fan. There are no moving parts that BLOW air around. It just heats evenly and the dish reflects the heat outward into the room where the disc is pointed.A pro is due to the design of this, it throws a lot of heat with little electricity compared to other heaters.There is zero smell or odor of any kind (and no fumes) which is fantastic.It is also completely silent which I love!Again I love the even slow heat of this compared to the type that turn on and blast heat then shut off for a while and it feels cold then turn on to be too hot again.Often I am the only cold person in the house, and I can use it to warm up while those in the same room with me are "just fine". The alternative is me over-heating the entire house just for my comfort and then having everyone else complain of being too hot. Using this is saving us money on our overall heating bill and it makes all of us happy.I am happy with the price of this product as well.

Toasty Warm!

Wow_ I love this heater! I have never seen a heater warm so well or so fast. Please keep in mind this is designed to heat a person not a space. So, to heat you up and not your room! For me this is perfect! If you are the person that is usually cold and everyone else is not but this thing! Ahhh-mazing! You can heat you and not them. My hands can be so cold I can hardly type. I get up and go get this heater out of what ever room I was last in. (It is very light weight and easy to move)I plug it in and with in one minute I am so warm I have to turn it down! Please remember though, this is to heat you... Not a room! Also very quiet... Unless you tip **even slightly** It has a warning sound.

I've had this heater for several years now.My wife gave it to me as a present.She likes to keep our home like a meat locker at night for sleeping but i work 3 to midnight and when i get home it's sweats and this heater to keep me warm.As other reviewers stated it sends a wave of heat in the direction that you point it at, which is ok by me.I direct it towards me and i stay toasty warm.It's silent and also has a light in the base which i guess is to let you know it's plugged in.Overall i am happy with it and i'm not cold anymore after work.

Looks and works well... Only 2 minor complaints.

Overall, I'm very happy with my entertainment center that I've owned now for about 1 year. I think the wood is a bit darker than the picture shows, but for me that is a positive. Now my 2 complaints... there was some minor damage; a scratch and a chip. One of them was my fault. Both very minor, but I had to use the provided repair pen and actually worked quite well. Now I would really have to search around to find those damaged areas. The second complaint is that I wish the heater was more powerful. The room I'm trying to heat is about 600sqft. I knew when I was buying it that it would not heat the room, but I'm just saying, I wish it would. I also live in the Phoenix area where it does not get that cold. So unless you are putting this in a bathroom, then don't expect much from a heater stand point. It will just keep the chill out at best. Last thing, just a heads up, I remember the doors being a little tricky to get level and properly aligned so they'd close right. If you are not the handy type you should find somebody who is that can help you assemble it. The hardest part for me was lifting the top piece and aligning it onto wood dowels as I did this myself. I highly recommend having that second person around to help you with the heavy lifting. I hope this review helps!
