So far this is a great little heater

After several disasters with space heaters dying on me with only a limited amount of use, I decided to buy this little heater at Best Buy last year with an extended warranty. I have used it off and on for several months and now that it is getting colder again this heater is getting a workout. It is mostly used in the bathroom but I have also used it in my bedroom several times recently, which is pretty large and does get very chilly and it does a great job.It does shut off automatically when the temperature reaches the desired setting. The casing stays really cool which is far different than the radiator heaters that I am currently trying, they get HOT to the touch. It is very light weight and for light sleepers it runs very quiet except for the light click it makes when it shuts off or comes back on adjusting to the temp change. I would say the only cons for this little heater is that there is no safety shut off if it gets knocked over and the temperature setting is a bit of a guessing game since there is no actual numbers (65 70 75 etc.) to go by. This is reasonably easy to figure out though. Overall, as of this post, I would purchase another one of these little heaters in a heartbeat.

Six Years and Counting

I bought this in 2007 for the office. I had another Honeywell at home and I liked it so I respected the brand. I also needed something small-ish to fit into my 12x12 locker at work. For years, I had this heater sitting at my feet and it kept me warm when the air-conditioning was making us all freeze our butts off. I lost my job last year and brought it home and guess what I still have at my feet? This heater! I paid a little bit more for it but I definitely feel that I got my money's worth. I don't use the fan feature and I don't keep it the highest heating speed. I just use the lowest heating speed and that's enough to keep me warm. I would think that if you needed a heater to heat an entire room, this wouldn't be big enough but as an office and small room heater, this is a good buy.

Ive had this product for about a week and i have developed a love relationship with it. It literally blows hot air at you! If you are in a cold place, you know, that hot air being blown in your face or hands or anywhere is an amazing feeling. I fall asleep with it blowing on my body and then when i am waking up in the morning i pick it up and put directly in front of my face. If my hands or feet are cold i can set it up so they get hot air. On top of all that, it heats up a room quite nicely. I am a college student and have a small dorm, but i would imagine that it could heat up a room larger than my 10x14. Bottom line is that it feels so good, and it heats up a room. Its little though. (worth the $ money too)...

This is GREAT!!!

The reason I got this fireplace was because it looks pretty good. We just had a spa set up in the basement. So we thought it may be a good display. Plus, the price is very good. So we decided to get one. The heater looks GREAT and fits right in our spa. And it is very warm. It does heat up the whole room. Our basement is approximately 400 square feet. And this little thing does its job. I ended up buying another two more. Now, I have two in the spa and one in our entertainment room. I highly highly recommend it. I am very very happy with this product. It looks elegant. And it is very sturdy. You can put miscellaneous items on it because the top is not hot. I only put a plant on it to keep the simple look. The top is not hot at all because heat comes out from the bottom. Trust me, I don't usually write reviews, but this is one of the best products I have ever purchased. One thing is I see this product in BJs at a lower price. The model # at BJs is a little different. The one from Amazon is DFS-550-0. The one from BJs is DFS-550-22. They sell it for $85. I tried to find this DFS-550-22 on-line, but not able to find it. So I THINK it may be discontinued already. So, whoever is interested in a fireplace, you may want to also check out the one in BJs. Not sure whether they are the same or not.

Great for dorm room

I live in a dorm where the heating is controlled and the university has yet to turn on the heat, leaving me freezing until they do. I tend to be super cold all the time, so wanted to invest in a decent heater. I was therefore siding with the Lasko 23 inch tower, (larger than average dorm room). It is harder to lug the tower home though, and definitely slightly pricier (i was buying from bed, bath and beyond). So I took the chance with this cheaper and smaller heater.It is GREAT. As soon as you plug it in, it starts heating up the space. It rotates and evenly spreads heat. It is great for keeping the space you are sitting in, and the general area/radius around you very warm.It is not big enough to keep the ENTIRE room warm, but since it is SO good at keeping me warm on my bed/the area where I'm sitting/studying, I cannot feel the cold draft inside the room whatsoever.This is GREAT for a dorm room, especially if your dorm is smaller than my room, it'll do a much better job of heating the room. Since I just bought this, I will update my review if anything significant changes. Right now, I am very happy with my purchase. It is also REALLY small, really light, and easy to store. It has a safety feature of automatically closing if you lift it to move it around, and turns itself right back on once you set it back in place. It has 3 different options + dial with min to max temp. 3 options: fan (regular/cold), low heat, and high heat. There is a fan noise but it is very minimal in my opinion and not significant enough to distract me from my studies!The only drawback for me is the fact that the safety instructions advise against putting placing it in the bathroom. The lasko 23 inch tower was alright in the bathroom.. so I will not be using this in the winter to keep myself cold before/after showers. too bad.

Blows all other ceramic heaters away

I work in a place that gets cold in the winter and never really warms up comfortably even when the heat is on, so people bring in their heaters. There are at least 5 different brand heaters at work, including my comfort zone heater. When I tried this one, it really puts out the heat, much more than the others, so I looked at the brand. I've been looking for it in stores ever since. I don't know who brought it in since there was no name, but I want one of these.

Works well in a ventilated or outdoor area. Throws out heat comparable to a small gas grill. Should get a lot of use out of this heater. Simple design means less crap to break. Use for fishing, camping or any outdoor activity which chilly air can ruin the fun.

the all pro with the red knob is the best to get for outside heating the Infra-red heater out beats, any model. If it has a red butrton it usually is infra red buy this product only- because other ones don't heat the area, when its cold- this one does

Defective Unit

When I purchased this, it had five 5 star reviews and one 1 star review. Unfortunately, I had the exact same problem as the previous 1 star review. When I lit the heater, it was fine for about a minute, then started sputtering and shooting flames from the front, and eventually shut off. I repeated several times, double checked the installation and operation instructions, and it still didn't work.After inspecting the unit, I realized that a rivet was missing, which was allowing air to leak in, apparently causing the sputtering and flame. I was able to bolt it down using my own hardware and the unit works fine now.Had it worked from the start, it would be a great buy. As is, I can't give a good review to something that I had to fix (and only hope stays functional).
