Works great

Used it for camping for two nights. Once off of a disposable cannister, once off a 20-lb tank with the 12-ft extension hose. Worked great each time. Had to supplement the pilot light electronic iginition with a match/lighter each time, which was no big deal, but would think if it has electronic iginition, it should work, hence the reduced rating.

I bought this unit so that when we went camping in the Van and it was cold we'de have some heat......and it works in that dept....good heat output. But of course you can't leave it on all night (totally logical and I knew that going into it. That is not a problem). So there really is only a couple minor things about the heater:1) It's going to smell a little when you light it. The combustion process is not that efficient right after you light it up. I did not have a big problem with that when I went camping by myself but my wife complained about it on a subsequent camping trip to Silverton, Colorado (elev 9400').2) It did not want to light at 9400' altitude when it was cold in the morning. This problem was solved by just using a long snouted BBQ lighter (you know like a Bic cigarette lighter)in order to light the pilot light.What I found that worked better than the Buddy Heater for getting up at night for potty was just an old fashioned 250 watt infrared electric light bulb like we used to have in bathrooms in the old days. However you will need batteries and an inverter (which I have and are not all that expensive).So the Buddy heater is there if it gets really cold (in the morning) but the electric infrared heater works best if you have to get up to pee at night.Don't forget you CAN NOT use this gas heater in an unventilated space. The instructions tell you the minimum venting requirements!I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

Excellent Product

I purchased a Mr. Heater for a cold weekend hunting trip. It worked really well and kept us nice and warm. The only complaint I have is that it's relatively easy to blow the pilot light out. I only plan to use mine inside a trailer or tent. A side note, for me, a 1 lbs propane tank lasted for 3 hours...
