Great product

I bought this heater after loosing money on CozyLegs. This heater is the best little heater, I find the remote control works real well to help from having to get up from our desks to make setting changes. We have a fairly big room we use it in. The only complaint that I have with it, is that when my wife is down here, she can change the tempature of the room from 67 to 75 in only less than 30 mins, and I am complaining that I need the thing turned off.

The Optimus heater did a wonderful job heating my 12X12 room. My room started getting warmer within 15 minutes and it hit the 65 degree mark in 25 minutes. Considering my heat has not worked in that room for the whole winter, not bad.Great little heater. The temperature gage seems to work really well, and the remote control is definately useful. Quiet enough for me to sleep comfortably when it was set on low.Would definately recommend to anyone looking for a portable space heater.

A previous review rated this heater at 4-stars because it wouldn't do something the user "thought" it should do. That's not the heaters fault...that's the buyer's fault. Read the description. I own a number of these heaters that are used for my small hobby greenhouse. They are excellent. The only drawback I found was the on-off temperature differential (3° to 5°) on the thermostat and that's not a big deal. I'm using one in my den (550 sq. ft.) and it does an excellent job. I added my own thermostat with a 1° differential and mounted it to the wall directly behind the heater and out of sight. If you have a 220VAC, 20AMP plug near the heater, you are ready to go. Buy one...you'll like it...great little heater with fan forced air.

Dependable, Effective Heater

I just bought one of these to replace an identical one I'd purchased 20-25 years ago. The motor finally wore out after nearly daily use (during the cold season, which can be fairly long and occasionally severe in Oregon). It just quietly sits there, the thermostat maintaining whatever temp you like, year after year. It can really throw out the heat, too. I hardly ever have to turn the thermostat up over 1/4 of the way.I'm going to find a replacement motor for my old one and keep it as a spare or put it in a different room. Probably be good for another 20 years.It's just so nice to find something of quality that just works nowadays. I highly recommend this heater.

Very pleased with this heater

We have done over our basement several years ago into a lage family room. We have a wood burning stove there and have tried several small electric heaters when not wanting to build a fire. We purchased this heater with a 220 supply line. It works very well. It heats up the room quickly and then when you turn the thermostat down it only comes on as needed. It sits on carpet that does NOT heat up. I saw one that a friend had and he was very impressed so we are trying it. Have not yet received my electic bill since it has been installed only for about a week. Rochester New York

Takin' the CHILL off.

I bought this unit to replace my Kenwood oil filled heater that finally burned out after five winters or 24/7 operation. I use it to "take the chill off" a room that is 25'x16'. It works at least as well as my old unit, maybe a little better. The only time I have to go past the middle heat setting to maintain 68 degrees is when it goes below zero here in Elko, Nevada.

Good Heat, Lots of Noise

As radiator heaters are, this is slow to heat the room up but once heated it will maintain the heat easily. The only problem I've found with this heat is that it makes a lot of noice while it is heating up or cooling down. Guessing it is due to the amount of metal that is used to produce it. I use an external thermostat to control this heater to keep the room at a comfortable temperature and to make sure that the radiator does not overheat. Though it is suppose to have overheat protection, the thermostat is my insurance for that not to happen.PS..the rating is for the noise it creates.

Whoo-Hoo - HEAT

This little heater is powerful! We have vaulted ceilings in our living room and this heater can keep the room at a comfortable temperature for hours. It does need 'warm up' time - but once it gets going you know it! I like the wheels on the bottom, they make it easier to move from room to room.I would recommend buying a "utility" extension cord. This heater blew my fuses when i used it the first time - so make sure you plug it into an outlet that is not already carrying a heavy load - as you WILL need a "good" extension cord.

I found this small heater at Walmart for $14, which is cheaper than I see here on Amazon. It is very small and quiet, which is good for an office space. It does the trick for my office, to keep me warmed up while working. It doesn't heat the entire room, like a space heater.

GREAT FAN!!!

This is the BEST tower fan ever!!!I just moved and only put in one AC in my bedroom and left my old tower fan behind (it was old,ugly and noisey) This very nice looking fan looks great in my living room. It has 8 settings from super quiet to the other "white noise" setting and super cool which is like having air conditioning air blown around. I have actually opted not to put in another AC for now. The other tower fans I had in the past are NO comparison to this. You get what you pay for and this honeywell fan is soooo worth the money!! I highly recomend this fan... I would give this 10 stars!! And as usual Amazons service is the BEST.

We went through so many terrible fans before finding this perfect one

Here's why we desperately needed more than an average fan for our home:We live in an older home with a very uneven heating and cooling system. The first floor can be comfortably cool while the upstairs bedrooms are sweltering hot. And yes...I know it can be typically warmer on the second floor of a home than the first but the variation in our home is extreme, way past the norm. As a result, we've already paid plenty to try and resolve this situation. Unfortunately, our budget forbids paying for the extensive duct work rearrangement needed to resolve the problem. We're saving up for that.In the meantime, this fan has made our home so much more liveable now. We sleep better and longer. It has been a quick and satisfying fix for a very frustrating problem. It also keeps our air conditioning costs low....amazingly low, compared to the years before we bought this fan. I think this is because if we feel cooler we aren't using our air conditioner as often.I'm not usually crazy about "bells and whistles" on gadgets because they often boost the price without making much difference. But in this case, the extra settings are a MAJOR plus.There are 8 speeds and this fan is AMAZINGLY quiet (I stress this point because I haven't found a fan even close to this one). Depending on your preference, you can set the fan to everything from "Sleep" to "Power Cool". There is also a "white noise" setting which had me asleep within minutes. You can also decide whether to have the fan revolve or stay still, depending on whether you want a steady stream of air blowing your way or not.Even in an 85 degree room, the f keeps our son's bedroom feeling comfortably cool.We plan on getting another for our guest room. Yes, it is pricy but it is worth it.UPDATE: I forgot to mention another nifty feature: you can set the fan to turn off when the room reaches a desired temperature. So if the room is 85 degrees ( and let's hope it is not) , the fan turns off when it reaches 78 or 75 or a other setting. This means that if nights are cooler you don't have to remember to bother with the fan. Saves electricity!

My install experience with this heater.

I just installed this heater a couple of days ago and have been using it the last two nights. Here are my thoughts on it: Installation instructions and operation manual are pretty straight forward. As is the install - not a big deal. Only trouble I had was that the gas port on the bottom comes with a metal plug in it (to keep moisture out of the heater while it is being stored in the warehouse) and it was a bit tight to get out. A hex key came with the heater for plug removal but I had to put a 'cheater' on the hex key to get a little more leverage. I have run it the last couple of nights and here is what I found: it only got down to the low 40's (Fahrenheit) here so I put the dial on "2" and the heater would not kick on until my room temperature dropped to about 68 degrees. It stays on until the temperature hits 70 and then it shuts off and the pilot light remains on. When the heater is running and generating heat it makes a small "shushing" sound that I find is pleasant white noise. To sum up: I like this heater, it does a good job of zone heating for my bedroom and I recommend it.

Makes very good heat and does't cost alot to run, but I wish it had a fan for it.

I have a larger one of these and I really like it. I like this one as well, but I really want to see ProCom make a fan for it and include it in the price of this unit. The main reason being "It really would help to have the fan in it." It puts out heat very well, but you need something to help circulate it. So I use a a standing fan or something else to help move it around. They should at least offer a unit with a built in fan, even if it cost a good chunk more. If you're looking for good quick heat and heat that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, then you found what you want. Just make sure to get a small fan to help move the heat around.

Propane Hose can be Quirky!

I am very happy with my new Mr. Heater hose hook up, but it did need some tweeking.I purchased the 12' Mr. Heater hose assembly, hooked it up, clicked the red Mr. Heater spark button and got a small pilot light to burn maybe 4 seconds. Then I could get nothing, no flame at all.This is not uncommon, I am finding out. The problem has to do with the new OPD safty rigged propane cylinders. Actually, it is caused by a very good safty valve that makes a lot of sense.There is an Excess Flow shut off valve in the new OPD units, so that your granddaughter dosen't accidently open up a cylinder in your garage and get frost bite or worse from propane shooting out. When the valve senses a sudden need for gobs of propane it shuts off or greatly limits the flow. Sounds like a good thing to me.However, the people at Mr. Heater make no mention of this. That's not so good. It took me maybe 45 mins. to an hour searching on the internet and experimenting with my own hose before I got it working.What worked for me was this:Once the E.F. valve shuts off it wants to stay closed. So you want to bleed a small amount of "hiss" off the pressure valve. To do this, you will find a small slotted screw head on the side of the pressure valve up on top of the tank. Slightly loosen this, let it hiss for a moment then tighten it down again. Now, with Mr. Heater hose hooked up and Mr. Heater off, slowly open the propane cylinder, hopefully you will hear it hiss inside the hose for a moment. That means the valve intially opened and is slowly filling the hose. Wait maybe five minutes for it to fill the hose. Once the pressure in the hose equalizes, you should be able to light Mr. Heater.This got me going. I hope it helps anyone else with the same problem.Sincerely,Randy

Quality accessory if you want economy and long burn time

If you want to maximize the safety, usefulness and economy of the propane Portable Buddy heater by Mr Heater or any other appliance that uses disposable 1 pound cylinders, you can't go wrong buying this hose!1. It allows the use of a larger LP tank (I have a 20 lb cylinder). I'm certain the savings from buying LP fuel in bulk will pay for the hose.2. You can locate the bulk tank away from the lit heater. I use the heater primarily in my garage. With the hose I can get the heater off the floor and still have the bulk tank in a convenient and safe spot.3. The hose can be used with any propane appliance that uses disposable propane cylinders.The five foot length of this hose could be a drawback if you need or want to locate the bulk tank at a substantial distance from the appliance; if you don't have the room to move the tank then the length is no problem. The 12 foot hose can provide more flexibility, however.Here's an essential safety tip for using this hose: be sure to shut/close the valve on the bulk tank BEFORE you remove the hose from the tank. It is possible to remove the hose end from the bulk tank without closing the tank valve and you will quickly find out that liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is another name for stinky, oily mess when it comes squirting out of the valve as I have done.

Good Accessory

I use this with a small propane heater to keep my boat cabin warm during winter fishing. I keep the tank outside for safety and use the hose to connect to the heater. Works great. I strongly recommend you use an in-line filter to keep any debris in the tank from clogging the heater. My first Mr. Buddy quit working after 1 1/2 seasons due to a clog. For the replacement unit, I have a filter installed (as recommended).
